ITK

The Insight ToolKit (ITK) is a special open source software toolkit for performing segmentation and registration. Segmentation is the process of identifying and classifying data of a digital image. The digital image or the sampled data can be acquire from medical instruments such as CT or MRI. Registration is the process of aligning or developing correspondences between data. For example, align data of CT scan with MRI data in order to combine information contained in both imaging modes. ITK was originally developed for problems in the medical environment, but you can also use it for other problems.
